Anyone got a set of these British Classics

I have a “mint” set that I listed on eBay, luckily I decided to take better photos of them.

These came with bearings direct from shiner in the early 2000’s and have been in a bag with other wheels until somewhere reasonably recently, probably lock down but say last 5 years, I swapped the bearings out to ones with matching Blue shields.

Today when taking the photographs I noticed two wheels had cracked at the back, despite never being mounted .

I have seen this before on well used wheels but not nos.

Anyone had something like this or know the cause..

I Pulled the auction but the wheels still look mint from the front

they take after us and crack up with age

had a couple like this, ive seen wheels that have been stored in hot places like the attic/false roof that have fallen to bits and started to disintegrate its usually the poorer quality ones though,they seem to be more brittle
